The Cosmos

Another name for the Universe is the Cosmos. The Cosmos is all of everything that is or ever was or ever will be. It is full of the building blocks of life. It is full of Life!

The Cosmos gave us life, and a nice, safe, comfortable Earth where that life could evolve. We have evolved enough to be able to realize we exist. We have invented ways to view the Universe. We can look around ourselves and realize how fabulous all this is!

Sometimes we just want to say "Thank You!"

Sometimes humans like to personify the Universe. That means they like to imagine that the Universe has a personality so it can understand them when they say how wonderful they think it is.

This strong feeling of connection can make people want find a way to express how they feel and share it with others. Sometimes they create religions to give them a way to do that.
