Galaxies in deep space

The Universe is everything. It is all that exists. There is nothing outside of it, because it goes on forever.

This Hubble telescope picture shows one of the deepest image of the Universe ever taken in visible light, showing galaxies from which the light has been traveling for 13 billion years.

Although it shows many galaxies, this is just one small bit of the Universe.

Look at all the shapes and sizes of galaxies!

Since this picture was taken looking away from Earth, our own Milky Way galaxy is not shown here. If it were in this picture, the Milky Way would look smaller than the small spiral galaxy in the bottom left corner, marked with a red arrow.

Just think about that for a minute.
